To help students practice English by answering simple and fun cultural questions, encouraging teamwork, speaking, and listening skills.
“Culture Clash – A Quiz Game” is a fun and interactive classroom activity designed to help students improve their English through simple questions about world cultures. Students work in teams to answer questions about countries, languages, traditions, and famous places. Each correct answer earns points, turning the learning process into a friendly competition. The activity builds vocabulary, encourages teamwork, and helps students gain confidence speaking and understanding English, all while learning interesting facts about the world.
Encourage students to form correct tag structures and listen/respond critically in context.
Practice tag questions by confirming or challenging classmates’ personal information.
To practice reported speech using different tenses in a personalized and fun guessing game that also promotes listening, memory, and peer interaction
Students write three personal statements about themselves using three different tenses. Then, they submit their statements anonymously via chat or form. Each statement is read aloud and classmates guess who wrote it — using reported speech to share their answer. Example: "Maria said she was from Santo Domingo, that she had studied marketing, and that she had visited Japan."
To develop students' ability to use the simple past tense in speaking by role-playing interviews with historical or fictional characters, encouraging fluency, creativity, and accurate grammar usage.
In this dynamic, students take on the role of time travelers from the past or future and are interviewed by classmates. They must respond using the simple past to describe experiences, actions, or discoveries. The activity promotes creative thinking, listening, and correct use of past tense verbs through interactive storytelling.
Help students understand and use comparatives and superlatives
By involving movement, real-life comparisons, and friendly competition, students learn grammar naturally while interacting with their classmates.
